Full-time on-site Sr. Systems Engineer

SKILLS:
The Senior Systems Engineer role is part of a team responsible for planning and executing the integration of Internet based products and services for shared Platform Services, primarily the Identity systems used across the Company. These services reside in multiple complex data centers and network environments and must be efficient, secure, scalable, reliable and cost effective.

Primary responsibilities include the design/build and implementation of additional production and non-production environments for these Identity Systems across multiple data centers to support integration testing for development and business unit teams as well as HA/DR initiatives. Configuration management and Runbook documentation will be critical to the success of these environments.

Experience with Java/Tomcat application configuration, custom software implementation, database administration, network and systems design, performance and availability monitoring, process improvement, and systems documentation is required. Automation experience with Chef or other similar solutions is preferred. ]

This position is also responsible executing tasks for projects within the Technical Operations team. Typical projects would include new business unit initiatives and updates to existing products and services that require planning, incredible attention to detail, communication to stakeholders, and flawless execution. Rotating on-call responsibilities to support multiple environments is also a requirement. The successful candidate will possess a work style that promotes progress through collaborative teamwork in a dynamic environment. * Detailed knowledge of server hardware technologies and systems support – administration, configuration, troubleshooting, performance tuning, security, and general maintenance * Experience with Microsoft Windows and Linux enterprise operating systems (20/80%) * Detailed knowledge of Memcache, IP communication, packet structure, load balancing equipment, and troubleshooting * Experience working in a high capacity, highly scalable mission-critical mail serving environment * Strong systems knowledge, including familiarity with client server architectures and their physical components (servers, network devices, disk-subsystems and SAN) * Experience with database management systems including SQL Server Mongo, Cassandra (non-SQL DB) * Proven ability to participate with other functional teams in systems integration and design including writing operational specifications, test plans and requirements management with attention to detail * Superior judgment, problem resolution, team building, negotiation, and decision-making
